Heisman Watch Week 7

Ladies and gentlemen, let's get it.

10. Justin Herbert, Oregon (Last Week: NR)- With Sam Ehlinger and Texas losing to Oklahoma, Herbert was able to crack the top ten for the first time this season. Despite a loss to Auburn in Week 1, Oregon is still a fringe playoff contender and Herbert is a fringe Heisman contender.

9. CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma (Last Week: 10)- Oklahoma needed to beat rival Texas to stay undefeated, and that's exactly what they did. Lamb was a big reason why, as he caught 10 passes for 171 yards and three scores.

8. Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma State (Last Week: 9)- Hubbard and the Cowboys were on a bye in Week 7. Despite the only player on this list not playing for a playoff contender, Hubbard's great stats are still keeping him alive in this race. At this point in the season, he leads the nation in rushing yards and is second in rushing touchdowns.

7. J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State (Last Week: 8)- Dobbins, who is second in the nation in rushing yards, and OSU took a well-deserved break in Week 7.

6. Trevor Lawrence, Clemson (Last Week: 7)- Lawrence moves up a spot after Ehlinger's drop, but his Heisman candidacy is a lot more precarious than his rank here suggests. His stats don't hold up when compared to other QBs like Herbert and Joe Burrow. On top of that, Clemson has not been especially impressive this season. Lawrence will need to have a hell of a November to make it to New York City.

5. Justin Fields, Ohio State (Last Week: 5)- As mentioned above, the Buckeyes were on a bye this week.

4. Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin (Last Week: 4)-Taylor has been so superb this season that it's not hard to feel a little disappointed in his Week 7 performance against Michigan State. He was mostly kept in check by the Spartans defense but still ran for 80 yards and two scores.

3. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama (Last Week: 3)- It only took until Week 7 for Tua to throw his first interception of the season, but he also threw for four touchdowns and 293 yards. He also managed to pass AJ McCarron for most passing touchdowns in Alabama history.

2. Joe Burrow, LSU (Last Week: 2)- In one of Week 7's most anticipated showdowns, #5 LSU took on #7 Florida in a huge SEC matchup. Burrow put on an absolute clinic as he completed 21 of his 24 passes for 293 yards and three scores.

1. Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma (Last Week: 1)- Statistically, Hurts did not have a great game against Texas, but Oklahoma did get the win to stay undefeated. Though Burrow is hot on his heels, Hurts still leads our Heisman watch.

Thanks for reading everyone.
